HONK!! It's My Birthday

Wahoo.. Today is Kurt's Birthday! He's the big 24 and what a fun start to the day... We got up early had yummy breakfast and then off to work Kurt had to go... But before he left I snuck outside to write on his truck in paint when to my surprise he had the work van today even better. Now I know he will be driving in it ALL day. HONK HONK HONK!!! It's my birthday!! That's what I wrote on the back window. When he started to back out of the drive way and realized.. He jumped out and ran to the back window. Lily and I watched from the window. I was already laughing. He looked up at me and shook his fist along with the funniest look of embarrassment. I hope people HONK at him all day. How funny! Kurt, I hope you have a great birthday and another great year together!! Love you!

Happy Birthday Ashley

OK so I am a few days late, but better then months right?? I met Ashley through Kurt's brother Mark she is married to one of Mark's good friends from school and boy am I glad we met. Not only did she get me my job at UOC, but she is so much fun to hang out with and has the cutest kids I know. It was Ashley's Birthday on Friday Jan 2nd and what a fun party we had!! We started off with dinner and watched the Utah game at her house. All the guys watched the game as the girlie's played. After an awesome win by the Utes, and great leg wars competition... we all went bowling. It was so much fun I don't think I have laughed so hard in a long time. Ashley has some fun friends!! I also kicked Kurt's butt at bowling which is always a plus. So all in all a great night! Happy Birthday Ash!! Love ya......

Wahoo!! Finally

We finally got Internet at our own house!! YES!! So my awesome sister Jody gave Kurt and I an older computer pry a year or so ago and we never use it. We never watch TV it's always movies so we talk about getting Internet and cable bundled, but both agree it would be a waste of a lot of money. So we finally decided to get Internet and needless to say Kurt has been on KSL ALL WEEKEND!! Thanks Kary for hooking us up. Kary spent his Saturday over here on our snowy roof setting it up for us and we really appreciate it. So I can finally blog :) I usually go to my mom's, but her computer it sooo slowwwww! So I log on the computer freezes and I give up. That's why the last time I blogged was in October... I have no more excuses! They little things in life :)

THE NEW PHISTER FAMILY RECORD

Well it's official... Kurt holds the Phister Fmaily record for the biggest deer. Which is kind of sad cause it's nothing amazing!! :) He shot it opening day just before dark. He hiked his butt off all day even after everyone else came in Kurt hiked around. He shot at one earlier (he claims) and he thought he hit it. So he tracked after it with no success. He finally made it back to camp ate lunch and was off again. We all rode up to the top of the canyon and anxiously watched Kurt, Mark, Dave, Bob and Kary hike down in opposite directions. Jamie, Steve, Mike, Danny and I watched through the binoculars from the top. At one point a little spike was headed towards Kurt. Mark and Dave told him on the walkie-talkies and Kurt looked up and there it was 25 yds away. He blinked and it was gone. From the top all we could see was Kurt running up and down the mountain. It was pretty funny! Finally we all started heading back to camp. Kurt, Mark, Dave, Kary and Bob decided to head to another area. Just as we got back to camp Kurt told Danny over the walkie-Talkie that he got one. We didn't believe him at first so we hopped back on the 4 wheeler and off we went. Maybe five minutes from where we camp if that right off the road. Kurt saw a 2 point and took it down. He shot from about 50 yds and it just kept running as if he didn't hit it. All mark could think is "How did you miss that shot!!" Just then it started crashing into some trees. So they followed a large blood trail and found it. Thank goodness he had all four guys to help explain how to gut it!! Yea!! Kurt's first deer!! He is so excited!! They are coming home tomorrow... Let's see if anyone can beat it... Good Job Kurt!!

The Annual Snake River Run

Again I am a bit behind on updating my blog, but better late then never... Right? So I wanna say the 4th annual Snake River run, but this has been going on long before my time. For me this is the 4th year in a row I have gone. It has become one of my favorite things ever. I absolutely love it!! I look forward to it all year gone. Usually we go in June and it seems like it's the start of summer. This year we didn't make it until the beginning of August which was great cause it was Hot and the water was still great. We started the year out with the new raft, "The Blue Dart" Big Kahuna was a really good sized hole and Lunch counter was a bit washed out but always a good time. We put the bright pink and green bailing buckets to good use water fighting. What a great family tradition. We are so lucky to have such a fun family to laugh and play with. We run the River twice a day once in the morning and again after lunch. The first run was a blast everything went great. The second run not so much. We had a full boat. Kip, Lara, Easton, and Russ in front. Mark at the oars with Kurt, Donna, and myself in the back. Bad idea... So we had a great time up until Big Kahuna. We hit the first hole and the swoosh. Before I even knew what hit us I was upside down flipped around and missing one shoe. I pop up and the boat in upside down!! Scared me like you wouldn't believe. Kips screaming, he lost a shoe too and was more upset about the shoe then the water pouring down on him. To my surprise I look over and Donna had grabbed my shoe, YES!! Kurt, Easton, Kip, and Lara made it to one of the other rafts. So Donna and I got the wrath of the river getting smashed on some rocks Donna had some nice battle wounds. As we catch our breath. We look up and here comes the next round of rapids. Although there were lots of people crazily jumping in to float down I was terrified to not be in the boat. Thankfully Mark and Russ helped me calm down a bit. After it was all said and done. I may have over reacted a bit. It wasn't so bad. Needless to say that was my last trip down the river this year. I'll be back and ready next year. The rest of the trip was a blast filled with dirty kids, games, horseshoes and camp fire. Sat night Payton, Annie, Easton, Kurt and I drove into Jackson Hole. We bought the pictures of the raft flipping and walked around town. We all went to Ripley's Believe it or not and believe it or not we all ate BUGS to get a $1.00 off. It was lots of fun. We saw some interesting stuff. Yet again another fun year at the river. I already can't wait for next year. If I fall in I think I will do a better job at not freaking out :) (Thanks Mark and Russ)
