WHERE DID 2009 GO??

So I am HORRIBLE at updating my blog :) If you haven't already noticed. I vowed I was at least going to post once a month all summer long and then I never did haha. My computer broke the end of June and then when we got it back up and running I just lost it and never blog. So here I am playing MAJOR catch up. My last blog was the first camping trip of the summer from May and here we are mid January how sad... So here it goes bit by bit I hope you enjoy!!
Here is what we did in June and July.

JUNE

Kurt and I decided since I had a week off work to put our lovely timeshare and flight benefits to good use for a much needed vacation. We went to Maui!! It was so much fun. This was our first real vacation on our own. We always have other people with us like our parents and so we both felt like we have never done anything on our own. Maybe this is the result of us both being the babies in the family... Always someone older to take care of stuff for us :) So it was exciting to just fly off on our own and find our way around the island and rent our own car!! I know we are dorks, but we seriously had a blast. Here are a few photos.

JULY

We had a lot of fun in July. It started off with the always fun 4th. We had a leg war and it was so funny. Lara and Jamie battled, Steven and Mark, Kip and Ethan, and the first timers Sier and Kyle. They weren't quite sure how to do it :)
Kurt and I went to his first concert since he was 10 and my first time to the amazing George Strait. It was so much fun lots of good old cowboys at the show. Kurt loved it and vowed to attend many more concerts. Since it is one of my favorite things to do.

I went to my annual KENNY CHESNEY concert with Emilee and Danni, but then the day before the show Kaitlynn won tickets on the radio so her and Jody joined us. Before the show started some random guy gave Emilee and I "Sand Bar" wrist bands which got us to FRONT STAGE. We almost touched him :) soooo close! It was so much fun and Kaitlynn had a ton of fun for her first concert and Rio Tinto was awesome!!
We also we to Yuba a few times over the summer and I got to take Kaitlynn over the twenty fourth. She was so fun hopefully we can go again this year. I can't wait for summer.
And last but certainly not least our annual family reunion at the Snake River. Which I used to love. Not so much since we tipped over a few years ago. But still a WAY fun camping trip as always!!

First Camping Trip of The Year!!

Of course we went to the Sand Dunes. Kurt really truly believes it's the greatest place on EARTH!! He loves it and I don't care much for it. I don't mind the camping, but I am not a big rider. I am more of the stay at camp and do my hair or get sun while everyone else rides. Works for me works for them. So all in all it was a pretty fun weekend. We drove down Friday night and it was our first time pulling doubles. I get really nervous pulling any trailers, but 2!! I was pretty nervous till we left and it was completely fine we didn't have any problems at all!
Whew! What a relief!
We went down with Mark, Lara, Kip, and Sier and then Steve and Jamie came down Sat afternoon. First thing Sat morning we all went out in the ranger and gathered rocks for the most awesome fire pit EVER! It was fun just riding around in that huge bus! I can handle that :) We played all day and then Sat night while we were sitting around the fire we decided to play "who sings it" a made up game where you listen to songs on the ipod and the first one to shout WHO SINGS IT, wins!! Well we didn't have a radio so... We all actually sang the songs out loud with just head phones in the singers ear! We all sounded ridiculous, but it was so funny and just tons of fun!
What a great sunny weekend at the Dunes.
Now on to Boating season!!

Fun Fun.... Not so FUN!!!

So on Saturday while I was out mother's day shopping. Kurt and his dad decided that they would do a bit of remodeling... We have had a few leaks here and there in our cute little home and have yet to fix them. Our house is for sale in case anyone didn't know. ANY TAKERS???

So Needless to say we want to fix some things to help it sell. Now we have no toilet and no floor in our upstairs bathroom. You can see clear down to the basement. There is a half bath downstairs, but it's only half finished. So ok we can use that right... Well sort of :) It doesn't really flush so well. You have to take off the back of the tank lift up the plunger thing and then after it finally flushes you have to reach down and turn the water on to fill it back up cause that doesn't work either!! Hee hee we love this fixer upper :) So until that gets fixed we are living by the motto of "If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, Flush it down" hee hee or hold it!! SICK I know. Thanks to Kurt and Danny they are doing a great job. It's going to look much better and no more leaky tub! I will post the after pictures when it's done.

Don't Blow Bubbles in the Shower!

Ok so I have told this story to a few people and everyone said I had to blog about it. Just over a week ago Kurt and I were in the shower together. We have a small hot water heater and we never have enough hot water to take shower separate unless it's at opposite times of the day. So here we are regular routine when Kurt decideds to grab the shampoo and soap up his hand to blow bubbles... In case anyone hasn't tried this it works best with liquid dish soap. Anyway so here we are two grown adults in the shower blowing bubbles with the shampoo. We were having a lot of fun. We have a pretty standard size bathtub. Well I was standing in the water so we went to switch places and wouldn't you know it the shampoo makes for a quite slippery tub. WHAM!! Kurt slipped right on his face all the way down and slammed his face on the toilet! HA HA HA I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt. A nice wife might have helped him up, but all I could do is stand there and laugh at him... Butt naked and laying on the toilet! He got up and said "I guess the shower curtain can't hold me up" as we looked up and the rod is completely bent and the screws are coming out of the wall!! It was so funny, just talking about it now and thinking about the image I bust in to laughter!! Note to self... Don't blow bubbles in the shower!!
